Five Tudor Anthems

6 SATBGbCb. The Tudor period was loosely the 1500s, and the anthems in this set are by giants of the day (Tallis and Gibbons) and lesser-known figures (Batten and Mudd). Irrespective of the original forces, these pieces have been rearranged for a six-part recorder orchestra. They are not transcriptions, but arrangements which take advantage of the colours possible with such an orchestra group. The great and contra parts may, however, be omitted if these instruments are not available. Beautiful music which is easy to play. Total playing time is about 8 minutes
