The Trumpet Hornpipe
Trad arr Steve Marshall
4 SATB. Steve says: The Trumpet Hornpipe is a genuine traditional dance - perhaps one of the best-known dances. Its fame arose in the 1950s when it was used as the theme music to the hugely-popular childrens cartoon series Captain Pugwash. That is certainly how I got to know it, and it has been in my head (and the heads of millions of others) ever since. Its a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for recorder orchestra audiences.
