S & A & piano. This piece, marked Allegretto scherzoso, is a one-movement, energetic piece, with plenty of banter between the recorder and the piano: very much an equal partnership. It is half for descant and half for treble.

A sparkling and melodious sonata, very much in the English pastoral tradition, in the form of three dances - a Bouree (for treble recorder) a Sarabande (which optionally uses the rich sounds of the brass) and a final rumbustuous Jig, in which the player has to swap  instruments fairly often and quite nippily!
