Flute and tenor recorder.

1 T & Gtr. These two reflective pieces were written for Justine Spence, to perform during Communion. The guitar part is of moderate difficulty. It could be played on a keyboard, bearing in mind that guitar music sounds an octave lower than written.

1 T and pno. Ann says: 'I wrote this rather pastoral piece so that tenor recorder players of moderate ability could explore the more unusual time signatures of 5/4 and 7/4. When I wrote the piece I had the mellow sound of a tenor in mind, but I have heard it played on the descant, and it sounded fine then as well. A suitably mellow descant recorder might be best however! Playing time is about four minutes.'

1 T, voice, body percussion. Written as a fairly straightforward way into using extended techniques.
Four techniques are used: simultaneous singing and playing, shading the windway, foot stamping and flutter tongue.
